Core elements:
Top of mind topics/trends - The contents of the whole thing are trends and topics that are top of mind for his audience. He's not mentioning obscure methods for trivial outcomes. He mentioning stuff we're thinking about and interested in.
Title hook only - With a text hook on screen, the video just starts immediately. No time is wasted with introductions or even a verbal hook.
Call and response - The voice from behind cam adds an extra layer and brings the viewer into the video.
Simple ratings - No nuance is given here he's not afraid to just give his take and keep it moving.
Why it performs so well:
Spicy take out of the gate - Doc wastes no time giving a hot take that's sure to get a reaction out of people when he throws infrared saunas under the bus. This video is nothing without hitting that early on.
Anti seed oil praise - Part way through the video he shuns seed oils with a stern zero rating. Similar to his initial spicy take, this illicits a reaction from a large contingency, a positive one this time, and that stirs up another round of extra engagement.
The doctor hook - Most of us don't have the cheat code that is being a Dr or lawyer - it's one of the only credentials worth mentioning/showing in a video. He's got it and it made this one go even more nuclear.
This is a simple video that you can execute for any niche this weekend. If you pay attention to the parts that make it genius, you may have a banger on your hands too.
Note: If you're a brand or business account, you're not ruled out of doing this. A founder talking about fads in their brand's industry. The business owner talking about trends they're seeing. This can cross over to brand accounts if you're not afraid.
Our challenge to you is to make this video this weekend. Let us know how you do.
